About Compass Education Policy Partners
Compass Education Policy Partners was founded to address a persistent gap in school leadership preparation. Student discipline is one of the most consequential responsibilities school leaders hold, yet it is often under-taught, oversimplified, or learned only through experience.
Our work is grounded in the belief that discipline is leadership work. Discipline decisions influence culture, instructional conditions, and student opportunity. Compass supports leaders as they navigate these responsibilities—particularly in moments that carry legal, safety, and community implications.
Impact Highlights
During Dr. Scott’s tenure in district-level discipline leadership, systemwide efforts have reflected measurable progress in student discipline practices and school climate.
- 68 out of 100 schools recognized as Distinguished PBIS Schools by the Georgia Department of Education
- A sustained downward trend in office referrals and exclusionary discipline, reflecting improved systems, leadership practice, and school-level support
These outcomes underscore the importance of disciplined leadership, consistency, and alignment—rather than reliance on exclusion alone.
